$106K raised for Memorial Hospital’s emergency department

PAWTUCKET – The fifth annual Memorial Hospital golf tournament and dinner reception raised more than $106,000 for improvements to the facility’s emergency department.

Dr. Michael Dacey, the hospital’s president, said he was pleased by the response from the community.

“It’s always wonderful to see the community come out in support of Memorial Hospital. This year’s focus is on the emergency department, which serves a vital role in this area, helping patients of all ages who are in need of care,” he said. “Thanks to the committee that planned the event and everyone who donated to this worthwhile cause.”

Dr. Victor Pinkes, chief of emergency medicine, told the audience about the critical role the hospital’s emergency department plays as the facility’s “front door.”
