Need help with complicated math formulas? Stumped by technology problems? Short on staff and long on problems?

Many companies throughout the country, faced with such dilemmas, turn to Kforce Inc., which specializes in placing accounting and technology experts on a temporary or permanent basis.

Carmine LaRocca, company director in Providence, noted that this is the third consecutive year the firm has been honored by Providence Business News as a Best Place to Work. Founded by CEO David Dunkel’s father, Albert Dunkel, the firm today has some 4,000 employees in offices around the country, five of whom are based in Providence, part of a Northeast work force numbering 100.

“Providence is one of the smaller offices,” said Tom Hart, president of the New England market. “But we’re growing the footprint down there.”

Each year, explained Hart, employees are eligible for an annual incentive trip based on production, performance and other set criteria. “This year, about 400 people spent a week in the Grand Cayman Islands. Next year is the trip of a lifetime, to Beijing,” he noted.

Employees are also eligible for quarterly and annual awards based on such criteria as performance, special-project participation and practicing core values. Additionally, employees can receive gift-card awards at any time.

Those who are interested in a possible management track can volunteer to lead weekly regional updates, and employees can volunteer for any regional initiative.

Quarterly incentives have included Apple iPads. This year, a weekly incentive is extra personal time. There are also frequent trips and activities, from the beach to casinos to bowling. •
