PROVIDENCE – The public auction of property from 38 Studios LLC’s former headquarters at One Empire Plaza, which included items ranging from computers to a 5-foot battle hammer, grossed roughly $650,000, according to the R.I. Economic Development Corporation.

The video game company founded by former Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling is being liquidated to recover some of the $150 million in debt that caused it to fold last spring.

Rhode Island is first in line for repayment from the defunct gaming company.

The auction, held by SJ Corio Co. of Warwick, is the second under the 38 Studios bankruptcy.

The auction in the company’s Maryland offices – the former Big Huge Games – raised $180,000 from a little less than half the items available at the Providence auction.
