PROVIDENCE – 38 Studios LLC, Electronic Arts Inc. and Big Huge Games unveiled a new downloadable expansion pack for “Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.”
The expansion pack – “Teeth of Naros” – “introduces players to a mysterious race, an all-new city and epic new adventures,” according to the company.
Naros is the second downloadable content pack for the inaugural game of former Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling’s 38 Studios.
The Naros expansion will be available starting April 17 on Xbox Live for 800 points and the PlayStation Network and online gaming site Steam for $9.99 each.
In February, the Boston Globe said 38 Studios employed 300 in Providence, short of the 450 it promised to bring to Rhode Island in exchange for the R.I. Economic Development Corporation’s $75 million loan guarantee.
According to the EDC, the last “certified” number of employees for 38 Studios was 270, as of Nov. 1. The video game developer must meet the 450 target by Nov. 1, 2013, said an EDC spokeswoman.
