As a business, Partridge Snow and Hahn LLP fosters a culture of dignity and mutual respect.
The Providence-based firm believes in teamwork and total support for its work force, including supporting staff health with a complete on-site fitness center as well as routine clinical screenings, nutrition instruction, stress management clinics and an annual immunization clinic. In addition, it has an employee assistance program that helps staff members and their families balance work and personal priorities, including grief, depression and marriage issues. PSH’s commitment to its employees has won it numerous health and wellness awards.
In the office, the firm works hard to create a diverse and nurturing culture. In 2007, it introduced a women’s initiative called WAVE (Women AdVocates for Enterprise), whose purpose is to help women advance professionally, both within the firm as well as in the marketplace, and to encourage advocacy for women-owned and -operated businesses.
For all employees the firm offers a leadership training and development program that facilitates its attorneys’ service in the community at large as board members of local organizations. It also has a continuing legal education committee to conduct in-house programs on hot topics in law, in addition to ethics programs open to clients as well as employees.
As serious as the firm’s commitment is to its employees, PSH also supports the Rhode Island community. It is proud of its work with Casey Family Services as well as Children’s Friend through pro bono legal services, along with fundraising walks and direct purchases for the social service agencies. And it signals its employees that the service matters by recognizing those who make a positive impact on behalf of PSH in the community. •
