Charles Nault created information technology services firm Atrion Inc. out of his Coventry garage back in 1987. The company, headquartered in Warwick with a mid-Atlantic regional office in Flemington, N.J., has been steadily growing ever since.

Today, Atrion has 273 employees and had nearly $110 million in revenue last year. Despite a challenging economy, the company has flourished, according to Garry Foisy, Atrion’s vice president of marketing.

“Our 20 to 35 percent growth in revenue year over year is due to expanded services and solutions that clients require,” Foisy said. “It’s due to our client-centric and business-centric approach to IT. It’s due to our commitment to the professional development and strategic positioning of IT leaders and teams.”

As many IT organizations struggle to find talent, Atrion has taken action with its apprenticeship program. It seeks to develop the skills needed of Atrion engineers by providing apprentices with credentials and investing in their long-term development.

Atrion’s growth, said Foisy, is deeply rooted in a sustainable framework that consistently delivers.

“It’s not a short-term growth spurt, fueled by a terrific economy or industry shifts,” Foisy said. “Instead, it’s the vision, strategic leadership, skilled teams, will to make a difference, and loyal clients.” •
