AAA: Gas prices jump 3 cents in R.I., Mass.

Gasoline prices in Rhode Island and Massachusetts rose 3 cents this week, AAA Northeast said Monday.
This is the second consecutive week of increases.
Self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline is averaging $2.23 per gallon in Rhode Island, while the same grade in Massachusetts is averaging $2.14 per gallon.
Rhode Island’s price is 4 cents below the national average for regular unleaded at $2.27, while Massachusetts’ price is 13 cents below the national average for regular unleaded.
A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was 1 cent lower at $2.22.
Prices for unleaded regular in Rhode Island range from $2.13 to $2.32, while midgrade unleaded is $2.51; premium unleaded, $2.67; and diesel, $2.47.
A year ago, the average price in Massachusetts was 2 cents lower at $2.12.
Unleaded regular prices in the Bay State range from $1.99 to $2.39, with midgrade unleaded at $2.37; premium unleaded, $2.53; and diesel, $2.33.
