PROVIDENCE – Gasoline prices in Rhode Island held steady this week in Rhode Island, but fell 1 cent in Massachusetts, AAA Northeast said Monday.
Self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline is averaging $2.19 per gallon in the Ocean State, matching the national average. A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was 12 cents higher at $2.31.
Prices for unleaded regular gasoline in Rhode Island range from $2.08 to $2.26, with midgrade unleaded at $2.46; premium unleaded at $2.63; and diesel at $2.40.
In the Bay State, self-serve, regular unleaded is averaging $2.11 per gallon, which is 8 cents below the national average. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 13 cents higher at $2.24.
Prices for unleaded regular gas in Massachusetts range from $1.95 to $2.99, with midgrade unleaded at $2.39; premium unleaded at $2.57; and diesel at $2.34.
