AAA: Gas prices unchanged in R.I., higher in Mass.

PROVIDENCE – Self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline is averaging $2.16 per gallon in Rhode Island, unchanged from last week, while the average price rose 4 cents to $2.13 in Massachusetts, AAA Northeast said Monday.
A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was 38 cents higher at $2.54. AAA said Rhode Island’s price is 1 cent above the $2.15 national average for regular unleaded.
Prices in the Ocean State range from $2.05 to $2.29, with midgrade unleaded at $2.43; premium unleaded at $2.55; and diesel, $2.21.
In Massachusetts, the average price was 42 cents higher a year ago at $2.55; the average price also is 2 cents below the national average.
Prices in the Bay State range from $1.99 to $2.29, with midgrade unleaded at $2.37; premium unleaded at $2.53; and diesel, $2.22.
