AAA expects Labor Day travel to reach a post-recession high this year, with a projected 34.1 million people set to travel 50 miles or more from Thursday, Aug. 29 through Monday, Sept. 2. That number is 4.2 percent greater than the 32.7 million people who traveled last year.
