PROVIDENCE – Free tax assistance for low-to-moderate income Rhode Island residents is being offered by the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Program, with special attention to those 60 and older, the organization announced. Residents requesting tax assistance are not required to be a member of AARP or to be retired.
“Whether it is the complexities of filing, the cost of preparation – or both – this is one of the most important services AARP Rhode Island provides,” said State Director Kathleen Connell. “It also is one of our most appreciated volunteer endeavors of the year. We can’t say enough about the team that gives up so much of their time to help people get through the tax season.”
The tax assistance is offered at 46 sites in Rhode Island, including senior centers and libraries.
