ACE event to focus on fundraising

FALL RIVER – The fifth ACE Entrepreneurship Awards Ceremony & Reception will be held on Thursday, April 26, from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Commonwealth Center, Fall River campus of Bristol Community College. The event is presented by the Academic Center for Entrepreneurship at BCC.
An innovative business workshop and panel discussion will take place from 4-5:30 p.m., where entrepreneurs will share, discuss and engage attendees with their real life stories of funding sites such as KickStarter and Spot.Us. Panelists include:

  • Candice Lee Cabe, Founder/CEO of Day2Night Convertible Heels.
  • Joe Perry, USA East Region & Canada, innovation center manager, IBM Global Entrepreneur Program.
  • Ari Taube, president and founder, Mini Pops.
  • Michael Morisy, co-founder, MuckRock.
  • Trevor Nelson and Brian Whittemore, co-founders, Pure Pest Management.
  • Paul Lieberman, president of LSV Inc., the franchisee for UPS Stores.
    The evening also features special guest speaker John O’Rourke, partner, Jerry Remy’s Sports Bar & Grill. John will speak on the topic of entrepreneurship and economic impact of small businesses. An awards ceremony and reception will follow.
    All are welcome to attend this celebration of entrepreneurship. The Academic Center for Entrepreneurship seeks to award local entrepreneurs for their efforts in this free, community-oriented event. Awards will be given to individuals of businesses in the following several categories, including: Developing, Cornerstone and Benevolent Entrepreneur. These awards are an important part of recognizing those who portray the true spirit of entrepreneurialism.
