PROVIDENCE – AIA Rhode Island, a chapter of the American Institute of Architects, has announced the winners of the 2012 Design Awards Program.

The annual competition celebrates outstanding works of architecture from Rhode Island architects and honors the project teams and clients who work with them.

The chapter also awarded its prestigious Archistar Award, which recognizes exceptional individual contributions to architecture by non-architects.

Clark Schoettle, executive director of the Providence Revolving Fund, was selected for the 2012 Archistar Award for “working tirelessly to preserve Providence’s architectural heritage and stimulating community revitalization through advocacy, lending, technical assistance, and development in historic areas.”
