PROVIDENCE – AIDS Care Ocean State is hosting its first-ever Monster Ball and Costume Contest on Friday, Oct. 28, at the Omni Providence Hotel.
George Evans Marley, AIDS Care development director, said events like the Monster Ball and Costume Contest help raise funds for ACOS clients in need.
“Heating assistance, food, clothing and other necessities are often needed by the more than 500 clients ACOS serves every year, throughout the state,” he added.
Presented by Yelp Providence, the evening’s festivities will begin at 7 p.m. with a DJ, dance party, complimentary hors d’oeuvres and cash bar.
Costume Contest judges include Yolandi Fizzure, host of “American Horror Story at The Alley Cat Providence”; Rhode Island Pride’s 2016 Mister Gay Rhode Island, Joe Di Mauro; Mrs. Rhode Island Kristen Starziano; and Benrus supermodel Alyna Kristine DeBlasio.
A $500 cash prize will be awarded to the guest with the best costume.
Guests must be 21 or older, tickets are $20 and are available from AidsCareOOS.org. Included in the $20 admission price is admission to The Dark Lady and the Colosseum nightclubs’ Halloween after parties.
