ARTS Scholarships applications sought

PROVIDENCE – Applications for the ARTS Scholarships 2015 program are being accepted through Feb. 27.
Jo-Ann Ragosta, program chairperson, and the community outreach committee of the Providence Performing Arts Center, made applications available starting Jan. 2.
“Rhode Island is rich in culture and diversity,” said Ragosta. “We are happy to give the youth of our state an opportunity to tap into their artistic abilities and develop skills that can help shape their lives.”
The scholarships program, sponsored by the Textron Charitable Trust and the PPAC Annual Fund Donors, will provide 30 scholarships valued up to $500 each to qualified, talented Rhode Island students.
The scholarships offer young artists – aged 11 to 14 as of this coming June 1– an opportunity to attend local, summer arts education programs that will broaden their experiences in a chosen area of study.
Applications and guidelines are available online at www.ppacri.org and in person at PPAC’s administrative office, 220 Weybosset St., second floor. Completed applications must be submitted to Cynthia Goldsmith at PPAC no later than 3 p.m. on Feb. 27.
