Acadia, Southcoast mark construction milestone

DARTMOUTH – Acadia Healthcare and Southcoast Health recently held a topping-off ceremony to mark the end of steel work on their new $30M behavioral health hospital here. The ceremony recognized the placing of the last steel beam into the new structure.

The 120-bed inpatient hospital is being built by Acadia in partnership with Southcoast Health.

Slated to open in the fall of 2015, the facility will include five core units, all of them devoted to behavioral health needs, and will consist of 77,000 square feet of built-out space on a 21-acre site with parking for 218 vehicles.

The new hospital will more than double the number of inpatient behavioral health beds in the South Coast area, which currently stands at 92 beds.
