Accessibility Now partners with AudioEye

EAST GREENWICH – The Bureau of Internet Accessibility, an alumnus of the Betaspring startup accelerator that runs a Web-based scanning service to help companies ensure their websites are compliant with U.S. Internet accessibility standards, has partnered with Tucson, Ariz.-based AudioEye Inc. to provide accessibility validation and remediation services for Web publishers.
Founded in 2001, BOIA (incorporated in 2013 as Accessibility Now Inc.) offers a testing service that allows any organization to understand how accessible their websites are to users with disabilities and other special requirements, based on standards established under the U.S. Section 508 amendment to the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
AudioEye’s Audio Internet platform delivers a fully accessible audio equivalent of a visual or mobile website to allow individuals with visual impairments to navigate and interacted with the site without the use of a monitor or mouse. For individuals with hearing impairments, Audio Internet provides captioning for websites.
“It is inspiring to see companies and organizations committed to technology ensuring that Internet content is accessible to everyone,” said Mark Shapiro, president of BOIA. “AudioEye’s unique approach of enabling client-side technology to make content available to those with special needs is a natural complement to our website accessibility testing and suggested remediation services.”
Nathaniel Bradley, CEO of AudioEye, said, “This partnership further accelerates Audioeye’s stated mission of working to improve the mobility, usability and accessibility of all Internet-based content by promoting and proliferating best practices, while simultaneously offering an enterprise-level solution to accessibility and compliance. Given its well-known expertise and tenure in this field, we consider the BOIA an ideal partner in this endeavor.”
