The Newport Harbor will be awash with sails and sailors as 14 historic vessels arrive for the Ocean State Tall Ships festival. Starting Friday, visitors can climb aboard the ships or check out exhibits on land while enjoying food, music and family entertainment. Lasting through the weekend, those interested can also take advantage of day or evening sail opportunities, join the captain’s toast or watch the Parade of Sail. Newport is an official host port for the Tall Ships Challenge series, which takes place annually.
