Alex and Ani encourages ‘Give Back’

CRANSTON – Alex and Ani LLC has initiated a companywide Give Back Time Off program that will allow all employees to make a positive impact during their workday, with pay, on behalf of charitable organizations.
The Give Back Time Off program is a natural progression for the Alex and Ani Charity By Design Employee Engagement Program first launched in January 2013. Through that program, 60 percent of the company’s employees volunteer their time on behalf of various non-profits.
“The very experience of being in a different environment and being useful in that environment is rewarding to the soul,” says Carolyn Rafaelian, CEO, founder, and creative director of the company. “When we connect with anything or anyone, through the heart, we elevate our consciousness, our value and purpose, and understand the meaning of unity. Its powerful, and it connects us to our communities and ourselves.”
In the new program, employees will have the chance with an existing non-profit partner, or one of their own choosing. This team of volunteers that continually changes has been officially named Team (+) Impact.
Full-time employees will be given eight paid hours per quarter to volunteer. Part-time employees will get four paid hours per quarter. One-full time employee will identify and coordinate these volunteer opportunities.
“So much of our brand and company core was established on the passion of giving back and the realization that there is always more to be done. This new volunteer program truly represents those ideals,” stated Nicki Maher, senior vice president of community engagement and partnerships.
The Charity By Design program has provided more than 1,700 hours of volunteer service by employees to more than 40 organizations across the country since its implementation in 2013.
