Posted 5/29/13

CRANSTON – Jewelry manufacturer Alex and Ani announced Wednesday that it has partnered with Borderfree, a market leader in global e-commerce solutions for U.S. retailers, in an effort to ship its eco-friendly jewelry products to more than 100 countries.

The partnership with Borderfree is expected to increase Alex and Ani’s international brand awareness. Through Borderfree’s platform, the company reportedly has the capability to accept international orders, pricing conversions in more than 60 local currencies and provide delivery service to more than 100 countries worldwide from its e-commerce site. In additional, international shoppers can now share the same shopping experience as U.S. consumers.

“Borderfree provides Alex and Ani with global ecommerce solutions to allow them to reach customers in over 100 new markets without hitting many of the hurdles and limitations associated with international expansion,” Michael DeSimone, CEO of Borderfree said in prepared remarks. “We ensure they are able to continue to provide their customers the best service possible, no matter where they are located.”

Currently, Alex and Ani has points of sale in Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Kuwait, Qatar, Egypt, the Caribbean Islands and Canada.

“All of us at Alex and Ani are proud to be associated with Borderfree, the recognized market leader in international ecommerce and operations,” said Giovanni Feroce, CEO of Alex and Ani, in a statement. “Our next phase for an international strategy will allow Alex and Ani to reach more consumers around the world and share our company’s message of proudly making our products in America.”
