Alex and Ani opens distribution center, plans more stores in U.S.

EAST GREENWICH – Alex and Ani LLC has opened a new 100,000-square-foot distribution center at 10 Briggs Drive.
Known for its American-made bangles made of recycled materials, Alex and Ani said in a news release that the facility will serve as the main product fulfillment center for the company’s retail stores, e-commerce sales and retail partners.
The opening of the center comes as Alex and Ani expands its corporate headquarters in Cranston, doubling its office space, while moving the Cranston retail location to a more prominent position at Chapel View.
Alex and Ani also said it will open 12 stores across the country this year as part of the company’s growth strategy, beginning with one in Aspen, Colo., which opened last week. The company also said operations for its New Haven, Conn., and East Greenwich stores will shift to other nearby locations, resulting in their closures in the first quarter of 2015.

“Since 2009, Alex and Ani has been committed to bringing our brand to consumers all over the world, with a focus on helping to grow local economies,” Jayne Conway, chief operating officer and chief financial officer, said in a statement. “We continue with our commitment in 2015 with the introduction of our new distribution center, our headquarters expansion and our new stores.”

Alex and Ani has 45 retail locations in 20 states, including District of Columbia, with more than 1,500 retail partners both domestically and internationally.
