LINCOLN – Amica Insurance received the highest score among homeowner insurers in J.D. Power’s 2014 U.S. Household Insurance Study released last week, marking the 13th year in a row that Amica has ranked highest in customer satisfaction.
Amica’s score of 839 (out of 1,000) was 49 points higher than the industry average of 790.
“I’m as proud of this award as I was when we received our first one,” Robert A. DiMuccio, chairman, president and CEO of Amica Insurance, said in a statement. “It’s important to our people, day-in and day-out, to provide service and products that make a difference in our customers’ lives. It’s an honor to again be recognized by J.D. Power for their efforts.”
This year’s study was based on responses from approximately 23,000 customers who have one or more of the following insurance products: homeowners, renters and individual life insurance, according to a release from the company.
Satisfaction in the homeowners and renters insurance segments is measured in five areas: interaction, policy offerings, price, billing, and payment and claims.
Auto-Owners Insurance ranked second in the homeowners category at 829, followed by State Farm at 813. Allstate ranked 10th.
In the renters insurance category, Geico ranked highest at 811 compared with the industry average of 802. State Farm was second, Nationwide was third. Allstate was seventh. Amica did not rank among the top 10 for renters insurance.
State Farm was tops in life insurance with a score of 823, compared with an industry average of 763. Northwestern Mutual (815), Pacific Life Group (792) and Allstate (785) rounded out the top four.
