PARTNER – Barton Gilman LLP
Why did you select your profession?
The strategy involved with staking out arguments coupled with the excitement of trying cases to juries made the decision to become a lawyer incredibly easy.
Where do you see yourself professionally in 10 years?
Continuing to grow with and learn from my clients and my colleagues at Barton Gilman.
What’s the best career advice you’ve received?
Preparation and hard work win cases.
What advice would you give your 22-year-old self?
Enjoy the journey – even the bumps, on the way to your destination.
What is your favorite Rhode Island escape or hobby?
Dinner and cocktails with friends outside in DePasquale Square on Federal Hill.
How do you keep a work-life balance?
I make time to stay active and exercise. An early morning bikram yoga class or a night kickboxing class to burn off stress can do wonders.
What one thing in your professional life would you like a do-over on?
Do-overs are overrated. The mistakes I have made, and will undoubtedly continue to make, keep me humble and remind me that there is always more to learn.
