Ann C. Assumpico has been named 13th superintendent of the R.I. State Police. She brings more than 40 years of public-safety and law-enforcement experience to her new role, most recently serving as captain in the R.I. State Police command staff where she oversaw the R.I. State Police Training Academy and R.I. Municipal Police Academy. She holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Roger Williams University and a master’s degree in administration of justice from Salve Regina University.
