Eight Rhode Island projects have been honored by the American Institute of Architects Rhode Island chapter.
The association of professional architects bestowed the awards in December after a jury convened at The Towers in Narragansett to judge them. The seven-member jury gave honor awards for an addition to an historic Cape on a coastal farm in Little Compton, designed by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson; the new St. Bernard Church in Wickford, designed by Durkee, Brown, Viveiros, & Werenfels and the Church of St. Gregory the Great in Portsmouth, designed by Newport Collaborative Architects Inc.
The company also handed out merit awards for an addition to a residence on the East Side of Providence designed by 3six0; the Art & Design of the 20th Century Rhode Island School of Design exhibit designed by Matter Practice; the Old Stone House Spa & Restaurant and Old Stone House Inn in Little Compton, designed by 3six0; and the Plant and Cuban Revolution in Providence, designed by Icon.
