In today’s digital world, communications, especially for business, is an always-on proposition. For that reason, last week’s Blackberry malfunction was not an inconsiderable inconvenience.

After years of having a sterling reputation among business users, Research in Motion’s Blackberry devices have been losing market share to Apple’s iPhone and smartphones based on the Google Android operating system.

Will this incident help push more customers away from the tried and true to the more feature-loaded products on the market?
