Arpin team helps food bank

WEST WARWICK – Arpin Group recently sent two teams of employees to assist with the sorting and packing of donated items at the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.
During two three-hour shifts in March, 19 Arpin employees volunteered to sort boxes of donated food and home items. They checked expiration dates, taped and repackaged items and prepared boxes for distribution.
The Arpin Charitable Fund organized the initiative.
“The late Paul Arpin was a great supporter of the Rhode Island Community Food Bank and we wanted to continue this tradition in his honor,” said Brian Asay, vice president of military services for Arpin Group and vice president of the Arpin Charitable Fund. “While we have been able to donate more than $68,000 to many charities over the last two years, we felt strongly that we needed to provide more organized opportunities for Arpin employees to experience the joy of volunteering in their community.”
With the success of this effort, Asay said it will continue this month.
