Aspen Aerogels celebrating new manufacturing facility

EAST PROVIDENCE – The completion of Aspen Aerogels’ third manufacturing line will be celebrated Monday with a ribbon cutting at its Dexter Road plant.
The energy technology company, in a press release, said the $30 million project is “an important step in its long-term strategy for growth.” It said the new line expands the facility’s capacity by 25 percent to meet growing customer demand, and that it also has led to job openings.
The event will be held at 11 a.m. In addition to Aspen Aerogels’ CEO and President Don Young, Gov. Gina M. Raimondo, U.S. Sens. Jack F. Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse and East Providence Mayor Thomas A. Rose are expected to attend.
