Atrion symposium set for participation record

WARWICK – Atrion executives are expecting a record number of participants to attend the fifth annual AlwaysOn Symposium about workplace culture.
The first symposium was held in January 2010 with approximately 150 clients and partners at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass.
Atrion officials expect that this year’s symposium, slated for May 20 at the R.I. Convention Center, will see attendance jump 300 percent since that inaugural year.
“I vividly remember sitting around the table five years ago first conceptualizing this event. At the time, we noticed the technology landscape had been experiencing a major shift over the last decade in that professional and personal environments were tasked with being ‘always on.’ Businesses and individual leaders were responsible for making sure critical technologies were always available when the business required them,” Atrion CEO Tim Hebert said in a statement. “Quickly we realized we were on to something nobody was talking about, so we decided to hold a thought leadership event focused on this notion,” he added.
The symposium attracts professionals ranging from IT practitioners and chief technology officers to marketing directors and human resource personnel.
This year’s theme is culture and speakers, and the five pillars that make up a strong corporate culture will be discussed: ideology (including vision, purpose and core values), amazing people and “wow experiences.”
“[AlwaysOn Symposium] has a great story,” Sean Burke, senior vice president and IT director at Middlesex Bank, said in a statement. “I’ve been fortunate enough to attend every AOS and each year the event is brought to a new level. Last year, we had 12 people from the bank sign up and this year we are expected to have 15 across several departments.”
