Attleboro facility? lauded by EPA

BOSTON – The Attleboro Water Pollution Control Facility has been selected by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for a 2014 Regional Industrial Pretreatment Program Excellence Award.

According to a statement, the facility’s staff was recognized by EPA’s New England Office for exceptional work in inspecting, permitting and sampling its industrial users that discharge industrial waste into the city of Attleboro’s collection system.

EPA highlighted several of the facility’s efforts, including its work to provide oversight of the city’s food-establishment sector. Although not a federal requirement, each of Attleboro’s food establishments are subject to annual inspection.
