BCBSRI CEO named chairman of Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce

PROVIDENCE – Peter Andruszkiewicz, president and CEO at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island, is the new chairman of the Board of Directors of the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce.
Andruszkiewicz was named chairman at the chamber’s annual meeting on Nov. 24 at the Rhode Island Convention Center. He succeeds Jon Duffy, president of Duffy & Shanley.

“I look forward to taking on this leadership role within the chamber, and I welcome the opportunity that it presents,” Andruszkiewicz said in a statement. “Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island has been a member of the chamber for 54 years. In this new role I am committed to supporting our state’s continued growth as a wonderful place to do business and live—values that are shared by the chamber and by BCBSRI.”

Laurie White, president of the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce, said that the chamber is excited to have Andruszkiewicz as its new board chairman.

“His wealth of experience in business and healthcare and his leadership, vision, and passion for making Rhode Island a great place for people and businesses to thrive is a tremendous asset to us,” she said.
