BCSB opens branches, gives to YMCA

TAUNTON – Bristol County Savings Bank cut the ribbon at new branches in Massachusetts on April 17, with its first full-service banking office in Fall River and its second and third branches in New Bedford, according to a press release from the bank.
“At a time when big banks often dominate the industry, it is a great thing when a neighborhood bank competes successfully and earns loyal customers by treating them fairly and understanding their needs,” said New Bedford Mayor Jonathan Mitchell said at the opening of the branch on Acushnet Avenue.
“The bank’s long and successful history of effectively serving businesses and individuals in southeastern Massachusetts helped make the transition for our former Admirals customers a smooth one,” said the bank’s President and CEO Patrick Murray.
As part of the ribbon-cutting at the Fall River branch, the Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation made a $250,000 grant to the YMCA Southcoast to help fund the Fall River YMCA Capital Project.
