BCSB taps John Silva as SVP

TAUNTON – Bristol County Savings Bank last week announced the appointment of John Silva to senior vice president of commercial lending for Rhode Island.
Silva, a veteran of the Rhode Island banking market, worked in various positions in more than two decades at Santander Bank and its predecessors. For BCSB, a Taunton, Mass.–based bank, he’ll oversee, manage and develop a team of commercial bankers within the Rhode Island market, according to a press release.
“We are excited to have a senior-level commercial lender like John leading our Rhode Island commercial-lending team,” said Len Sullivan, first executive vice president and senior loan officer at BCSB. “John has over 25 years of banking experience and with his leadership the Bank will focus on continuing our strong loan growth in Rhode Island.”
BCSB, founded in 1846, has $1.8 billion in assets and more than 400 employees in Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
