BOSTON – Merger talks between Boston Medical Center and Tufts Medical Center recently ground to a halt.
Although just a mile away from each other and with both serving similar, mostly suburban patient populations, the two organizations could not find enough points of agreement to ink a deal.
Tufts’ board was reportedly the first to balk, with Boston Medical Center’s board quickly following suit.
The two hospitals issued a statement expressing openness to collaborating in the future.
