The Audubon Society of Rhode Island was recently named the recipient of a $5,000 grant from Bank of America Charitable Foundation. The Audubon Society was chosen to receive the grant by Bank of America employee Leslie Samayoa, who was the winner of the Bank of America Volunteer Service Award for Rhode Island.

In addition to volunteering at Audubon Society of Rhode Island, Samayoa is a board member for Bank of America Community Volunteers and president of Environmental Network. As a result of her award, she was given the opportunity to choose an eligible nonprofit to receive the grant.

“Like many Bank of America employees here in Rhode Island, Leslie has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to community service and improving the lives of those around her,” said William F. Hatfield, Bank of America Rhode Island president. “We are delighted that Leslie has chosen to direct her grant to the Audubon Society, a worthy organization whose conservation efforts help to make Rhode Island a wonderful place to live and work.” •
