FALL RIVER – After a $500 grant from BankFive, the Fall River Police Department hopes a new monitor will help it pin down more perpetrators.
The monitor will be displayed in the department’s roll call area and play a continuous loop of surveillance videos. With its enhanced image quality, the department hopes to increase its success in identifying subjects featured in the videos.
“The Fall River Police Department is pleased and grateful to receive this grant from our partners at BankFive,” said Chief Daniel S. Racine. “This grant will allow us to provide the community with more effective and efficient investigative police services.”
In addition to surveillance videos, the monitor will enable police to view wanted suspects and different types of digital data in real time during roll call.
“I am confident this will be a frequently used tool in our tool box,” Racine said.
