NEWPORT – BankNewport last week announced the launch of its second-generation mobile banking app with several added features, the bank said.
BankNewport, with $1.3 billion in assets, has made the app available for personal and business eBanking customers and can be downloaded through the iOS App store or Google Play and is only available to BankNewport users, according to a press release.
The app includes features including the ability to pay bills, transfer money to both BankNewport customers and customers of other banks. The app also allows users to deposit checks by taking a picture, place a stop payment on a check and the ability to set up a feature called “Fast Balances,” which allows users to view account balances and their last five transactions without having to log in, according to the release.
“eMobile further demonstrates BankNewport’s continued efforts to provide customers with the most advanced banking technology in the industry,” said Nelson Teixeira, vice president, direct banking and eBanking director, in a statement. “Customer feedback for eMobile has been tremendous – they value the capabilities and ease of navigation to conduct banking whenever and wherever they may be, no matter the device they may be using.”
Customers can deactivate or reactive lost or stolen ATM/debit cards, locate BankNewport branches or ATMs, and send secure messages to eBanking representatives with click of a button, according to the release.
