BankNewport reps visit Rogers H.S.

As part of a program that complements their school’s financial education initiative, students at Newport’s Rogers High School have been learning about financial skills from BankNewport officials.
Each month, a member of the bank’s management team heads to the classroom to give a presentation on a different topic aimed at helping students prepare for the financial challenges and lifestyle decisions they’ll face as adults. Some of these topics include careers, checking accounts, debit cards, online banking, budgeting and financial planning.
“Having strong financial skills is so important in the larger framework of how to manage one’s everyday life,” said Sandra J. Pattie, BankNewport president and CEO. “The opportunity for our team to share their expertise with the students at Rogers High School is extremely rewarding. We want them to be knowledgeable and confident in their financial choices, and achieve success as future employees, parents and members of our community.”
After completing their financial education curriculum, students will participate in a financial education fair sponsored by BankNewport.
