BRISTOL – On Sunday, Jan. 29, the Bristol Rotary Club and Bristol Fire Department will team up with volunteers to collect non-perishable food in the northern area of town, for donation to the Bristol Good Neighbors Soup Kitchen.
Plastic bags have already been delivered to homes in the area, and residents are asked to leave the bags at their front door for pickup on Jan. 29. Those who do not have donation bags or want to help can drop off food at BankNewport’s 6 Gooding Ave. location, from 12 to 4 p.m. on Jan. 29.
Volunteers also are needed to participate in the food drive and can report to BankNewport at 11:30 a.m. on the 29th. Those wishing to help are invited to attend a macaroni and meatball dinner at 4 p.m. at the Good Neighbors Soup Kitchen, 378 Hope St. (St. Michael’s Church Parish Hall). For information, call Rotary President Cid Rodrigues at (401) 254-1959.
