BankNewport recently announced the recipients of three nonprofit donations as part of its community volunteer program, which urges bank employees to change local communities through volunteerism.
Employees who volunteered six hours or more during the 2012 calendar year at designated outreach events were eligible to be included in a raffle that paid $250 to a nonprofit of their choice. Three employees were selected and chose the following nonprofits to award: One Fund Boston; Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center in Newport; and the Potter League for Animals in Middletown.
“BankNewport’s community commitment goes beyond providing quality banking and financial services,” stated BankNewport President Sandra J. Pattie. “It’s our responsibility as a good corporate citizen to help strengthen our communities, and every day I’m inspired by our team’s generous spirit and their value of community service.”
In 2012, 60 bank employees volunteered more than 275 hours in support of local communities. •
