BankRI gives $2,500 grant to College Visions

Posted:

Bank Rhode Island recently awarded a $2,500 grant to College Visions to help ease some of the challenges faced by low-income and first-generation college applicants.

The grant supports College Visions’ College Access and College Success programs, which currently serve about 65 high school seniors and about 235 college students. Through the programs, students receive comprehensive advising and resources that help them to enter into and eventually graduate from college.

According to the organization, BankRI has supported its cause for the past eight years.

“In today’s constantly evolving job market, it’s imperative that we invest in the next generation of workers, today’s students, to ensure their ability to lead successful careers,” said Mark J. Meiklejohn, president and CEO of Bank Rhode Island. “College Visions has been successful in helping underprivileged students attend and graduate from college – we’re proud to support their efforts.”
