NORTH SMITHFIELD – Supply chain management solutions provider Banneker Industries Inc. has been selected as the 2013 Supplier of the Year by the Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council.
Bannekar, which was nominated for the honor by Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems, received the award at the Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council annual awards Gala on April 25.
“We are extremely honored to have been chosen for this recognition from an organization we passionately support and whose mission and values mean so much to all of us at Banneker,” Cheryl W. Snead, president and CEO of Banneker Industries, said in prepared remarks.
“It means a great deal to Team Banneker to have been nominated by Raytheon, one of our largest customers,” added Snead. “It speaks highly of our 22-year strategic partnership with them and we look forward to continuing to exceeding their expectations in the years to come.”
Banneker was chosen as “Supplier of the Year” for class-3 companies, which are defined as businesses ranging from $10 million to $50 million in sales.
According to a company news release, Banneker won the award while overcoming what it described as “significant obstacles.”
