BayCoast Bank. others donate $132K to Henry Lord

BayCoast Bank recently announced that it will donate $50,000 to Fall River’s Henry Lord Middle School in memory of a local mentor and community volunteer.
The grant will honor Susan M. Medeiros, who died in December 2011.
Medeiros, a former vice president and treasurer at BayCoast, volunteered as a mentor for SMILES, a program run by People Inc. She was also a supporter of the Hudner Oncology Center at Saint Anne’s Hospital, a participant of the Pan-Mass Challenge and the creator of BayCoast’s Dress Down for Charity program.
“Sue was always looking for new ways to give back to the community,” said Nicholas Christ, president and CEO of BayCoast Bank. “She had a passion for helping others and a special fondness for programs that help local students succeed.”
In addition to the bank’s contribution, People Inc. will donate an additional $50,000 and Bristol Community College will donate $32,000.
The funds will assist the school as it transitions into a pre-kindergarten to eighth-grade model and allow for the creation of a school community center to be staffed by People Inc.
