BIG BROTHERS OF RHODE ISLAND and CRT Recycling recently hosted a successful electronic waste recycling drive, opening the door to a partnership in which proceeds will continue to benefit Big Brothers.

Earlier this year, Big Brothers of Rhode Island received proceeds from an electronic-waste recycling event organized by CRT Recycling. Due to the event’s success, the organizations formed a partnership that will continue to benefit Big Brothers and Rhode Island residents.
CRT Recyling, based in Brockton, Mass. will now offer free, pre-scheduled, house-to-house pick up of recyclables, and donate the proceeds to Big Brothers. The amount donated will vary based on the type and weight of items collected.
Steve Kass, executive director of Big Brothers of Rhode Island, said his organization was excited about the success of the recycling event and is pleased with the opportunity to continue working with CRT Recycling.
“What began as a single fundraising event for us has evolved into a longer-term relationship for us, one which will benefit Big Brothers of Rhode Island in its goal to recruit big brothers … and will benefit Rhode Islanders who want a convenient, safe way to recycle household goods,” he said. •
