PROVIDENCE – The Rhode Island Black Business Association awarded five individuals and organizations in its 2014 Business Awards Program on Aug. 20.
The annual awards are intended to honor the achievements of exceptional leaders.
“I congratulate the award recipients,” said Lisa Ranglin, president of RIBBA. “We received dozens of nominations this year. These individuals and companies [represent] the best in their league and are worthy of this recognition.”

Award winners will be honored at RIBBA’s Annual Business Awards Gala on Oct. 3, at 6 p.m. at the Omni Providence Hotel at One Exchange Street. Kirk A. Sykes, president of the Urban Strategy American Fund and former chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, will be the keynote speaker.
