Blackstone Valley moves into new facility

PAWTUCKET – The Blackstone Valley Community Health Center will begin seeing its patients at its new four-story, 32,000-square-foot, $6.7 million facility on Oct. 16, with an official grand opening celebration scheduled for Oct. 22. The move is literally down the hill from 42 Park Place in Pawtucket to its new location at 39 East St.
The new facility includes a second-floor dedicated to pediatrics and maternity services, exam rooms that are equipped with state-of-the-art medical devices that will measure a patient’s vital signs and send them directly into the patient’s electronic health records, and even a special training room for patients to learn how to use their own patient portals.
It has been a year of firsts for Blackstone – in July, they joined the R.I. Chronic Care Sustainability Initiative, one of the first medical home demonstration projects in the country, and they were also awarded recognition as a Level 3 patient-centered medical home.
