TAUNTON – The Boston Globe is in the process of buying a 330,000-square-foot vacant industrial site at 300 Constitution Drive to house its printing and distribution units, the Boston Business Journal reported.
The Taunton property is owned by New Jersey-based Chambers Street Properties, which acquired the site for $19.75 million in 2004.
The Taunton site is about 40 miles from the Globe’s long-time headquarters and main printing site on Morrissey Boulevard in Boston.
A spokesman for Chambers Street properties would not comment on the Boston Business Journal report.
