Brain Injury Association hosts 2017 events

EAST PROVIDENCE – The Brain Injury Association of Rhode Island will break in the new year with Comedy for a Cause: Laugh Your Head Off prior to its annual Statewide Brain Injury Conference.
Held on Friday, Jan. 20, at the Imperial Room at Rhodes Place in Cranston, Comedy for a Cause: Laugh Your Head Off will feature headliner Bill Simas through Funny 4 Funds, an organization that helps facilitate comedy shows raising funds for various causes.
The association’s 16th annual Statewide Brain Injury Conference will be held at the Crowne Plaza Providence-Warwick Hotel in Warwick from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, March 17. The association is looking for sponsors and exhibitors interested in speaking to guests about issues ranging from mobility and wellness to health care. Nicholas Cioe, a Brain Injury Association board member, will emcee the event while Christian Franck, a Brown University assistant professor of engineering, will be talking about the death of cells in the brain. Bill White, president of Brain In Play International, will also speak at the conference.
