Breast cancer survivors walk the runway

Survivors of breast cancer recently took to the runway at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet to showcase trends as part of the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation’s Our Heroes Annual Survivor Fashion Show.
One of the foundation’s “Signature Events,” this year’s show featured three groups of models, including women diagnosed before the age of 40, individuals undergoing treatment, and family members.
Models donned fashions provided by Brooks Brothers and other sponsors, including Coventry’s Gigi’s Glitzy Boutique, Warwick’s Off Broadway Shoes, North Providence’s Botticelli and Cranston’s Sonya’s. Additionally, Cranston’s Carl Anthony Tuxedo provided complimentary suiting for model escorts.
In addition to the fashion show, guests were treated to dinner, music and entertainment.
Maria Gemma, executive director of foundation thanked those who helped make the event a success, include supporters from Providence Place.
“With the mall overlooking our Flames of Hope event during Columbus Day weekend every year, we have been fortunate to receive an overflow of support from retail stores and the whole team at Providence Place,” said Maria Gemma.
