Brian Goldner

Chairman, CEO and President Brian Goldner has Hasbro Inc. on a growth trajectory in the corporate realm and as a sustaining philanthropic partner in Rhode Island.

Goldner joined the world’s third-largest toy company in 2000, becoming CEO in 2008 and chairman in 2015. In that time, he has led efforts to morph Hasbro into a global branded-play powerhouse with solid relationships with strategic partners. And the transformation has attracted recognition, with MarketWatch naming him CEO of the Year in 2008.

While strengthening classic brands such as Milton Bradley and Tonka, Goldner has negotiated deals for movies based on favorite Hasbro toys with partners including Paramount Pictures, Sony and Universal Studios. He is executive producer for the Transformers movie franchise, which has a fifth film due out in the summer of 2017.

At the same time, Goldner has carried on Hasbro’s stance as a good employer and corporate neighbor.

For five years, Hasbro has been named one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere Institute. Hasbro was named the second-most transparent and responsible company in the nation, according to Corporate Responsibility Magazine, for its philanthropy, employee relations and community support. Locally Hasbro has been a frequent winner in Providence Business News’ Best Places To Work and Healthiest Employers programs.

In 2015, Hasbro contributed $1.7 million to Rhode Island charities, with $13.6 million donated nationwide. After the naming sponsorship, it donated an additional $2.5 million for hospital construction to Hasbro Children’s Hospital and continues to help. A recent Nerf Ball fundraiser raised $1.06 million for the facility. •
